Hi guys - looking for some info here - I have a SBC in my chevy truck - presently the Alternator is up high on the driver's side ( Left hand drive of course) and a short water pump.

I have a power steering pump to add, which goes on the same side of the block but a bit lower down.

I thought that I would just pop a double pulley on the crank - buy a bracket that relocates Alt to other side - Job done.

Now I am being told that I need to change up to a Long water pump - and buy all new pulleys in order to do what I want - and I have got a headache just thinking about all this right now.

Any ideas - suggestions greatfully received !!

usual is altinator is top left and power steering pump top right as you look at the front of the block.

you can mount both lower as have my altinator top left and the power steering pump bottom right, but also have a long waterpump and double groove pulley
