Just started scanning a few of my own pictures in, (ABOUT TIME!) came across this mk2,

WONDER WHAT IT WAS LIKE ON CORNERS!!:shake:

dont ya just love it!, this was at Walton on the Naze around 1980 sort of got me thinking, wouldnt it be great to see all these old 70s creations on one thread, these type of mods were all the rage back then, i look back on them now with great respect, think there all great to see & i also would like to see a bit of a comeback on them which is in fact already happening...

If i remember rightly this mk2 came back down to earth & ended up plane cream with sort of weld type wheels & a totally smooth uncluttered v-eighted engine bay, i remember it at one of the late Ken Mears Essex motor shows at the Essex showground, late 80s/early 90s, got the pics but havent got to them yet, anyone know of its fate or can confirm what im thinking?

now come on everybody, lets see those 70s creations, dont be shy, lets see those jack up kits, those sidepipes, the paintjobs, the higher the rear end the better!!

oh yeh & dont forget to check out those savage wheel trims on the escort in the last pic, hands up whos still got some of those in the garage!! :smoke:

THE DREAM WEAVER GRANADA WAS AT THE MAY 78 CHELMSFORD CLUB SHOW, IT WAS PARKED UP THE ROAD NEAR THE FIRE STATION, PRESUMABLY BECAUSE OF A LACK OF SPACE AT THE VENUE!, DIG THEM DEFRACTION TAPE NAME STICKERS!.......

THIS 105E WAS AT THE SHOW OUTSIDE THE MARQUEE.......

I SPOTTED THIS MK3 CORTINA ON THE WAY TO ALLY PALLY 79, (I TOOK THE PIC FROM INSIDE ANOTHER MK3)

& THIS BLACK CAPRI WAS TAKEN IN BROOMFIELD IN 79, IT WAS BUILT BY BARRY SPARHAM WHO ALSO BUILT A CHOPPED WHITE A30/35 WITH MK1 CORTINA REAR LIGHTS THAT WAS ABOUT IN THE EARLY 80S.

& THIS RED ONE BUILT BY MARINE COACHWORKS WAS TAKEN AT WALTON ON THE NAZE AT AROUND THE SAME TIME AS THE HIKED MK2.........

I LOVE seventies customs.
In fact I think I'm gonna build one.
Yes, that's it. I'm definitely gonna build one.
Here's the Satisfaction Cortina, which has been sat on my mate's four post lift for the last 1000 years.

Sorry about the crap photo.
Another mate has just got a chopped Mk1 Escort van on the road. Jacked up, 3ltr V6, Jag axle, the works.

The '70s - it's the future.

This is my mate Peters Anglia.

A relitivaly new build but in the traditional 70,s stylee.
I just wish he would ditch the Centrelines for some Slot Mags.

This is how I built the wifes 64 Bug about 3 or 4 years ago.

Traditional 70's US Cal Look.
Had a Deep dish Grant Buggy wheel for a while & was gona have pram bars.
But its her car & it now has been done resto Cal instead.
You know.....Dropped, early steels, roof rack, accesorys, etc.....Boo Hoo.

Was thinking of some 70's ideas for my Karmann Ghia.
i.e. Fun Fur trim & a Laced roof.
But then theres Cal Look, Hot Rod, Tiki, AAAAAAR.
What ta doooo ?

When I built the Anglia back in the 80's, it was running Wolfrace slotmags. Micky Tebbs added the Centrelines when he painted it back in 3003/4.

hi mopar, love your photos, i'm a fanatical collector of old british car made customs so often 'borrow' your pictures. Used to post quite a lot on nsra, so i'd better start on here. Here's a few more old photos of the humber.

Brian Wiltshire (his twin brother) at the rear and to the right of doorday of second photo. Used to be known as Barry & Brian 'Hill Billies' because they came from Hill Crescent in Hornchurch and 'cos they lived a Hill Billy existance - used to have many interesting cars though - moved out to Suffolk 20+ years ago - where are they now?
