We will be leaving home at 6am and we have to stay till 6.30pm.

We have a slightly different process of entry this year and in light of recent serious events involving vehicles we are going to be very strict on entry times and process, I do hope you all understand this. On both Saturday and Sunday the gates will open from 7am and close at 8.55am. This is to ensure we do not have any vehicle movement when public have been allowed into the venue. If you arrive after this time I’m afraid you will not be granted access.

On arrival you will be directed to a holding area – please ensure you have your coloured mirror hanger in place and tickets ready. At this point your name and registration will be checked against our parking list and you will then proceed through to the entrance point where your tickets will be scanned (you can purchased any additional tickets here). Once through the entrance point, our marshals will place your vehicle in its allocated position and you are free to enjoy the show all day. Again, due to high volumes of public on site, we have a zero vehicle movement poilcy until the site is clear of the public – we anticipate this to be around 18:30, please do not move your vehicle before this unless instructed to do so by an official marshal. However on Sunday we do have the parade laps where the marshals will move you one area at a time into place – again please wait to be moved for this. You will exit the venue directly after the parade laps.

For Saturday can all display cars please access the venue via the main entrance point. On Sunday those with an orange mirror hanger, please access the venue via the Paddock entrance using Scratchers Lane. All other coloured hangers (on Sunday) access the venue via the main entrance.

We have over 1000 cars to get in on Sunday so we would really appreciate you arriving as early as possible. And please bear in mind many of our marshals are volunteers and will have been there very early in order to help get you in, happiness and politeness are always welcome.

We all look forward to seeing you this weekend.

Well i'm now considering whether our family goes or not.

We were planning to leave home at 6.30am to ensure that we got in before the cut off.
We were taking two cars and both of our daughters.

If we have to stay till 6.30pm that means we're looking at a 14 hour day (minimum)

The information that came with the tickets, does ask that you restrict vehicle movement until the end of race day, but thats very different to the tone of the email.

I'll bet that most parents with kids will want to leave before 6.30pm.

Just got this come through via email;

Dear car display owner

Following our communication yesterday a number of people have been in touch regarding departure of vehicles before 18:30. Our primary consideration is the safety of everyone at the event hence the restriction on movement of vehicles in heavily congested areas with large volumes of visitors on site.

However if the need arises to remove your vehicle for specific reasons, please seek the assistance of an official marshal who will escort you to the closest exit point.

We thank you for your co-operation and understanding in this matter.

Previous years it's been a really good event so seems they are relaxing a little on vehicle movement. If a convoy leaves at the same time it would probably be easier for them to manage.

I'm still looking forward to it regardless though.

Nothin like a knee jerk reaction !
I will still go but see no way they can stop you leaving. Gates cant be locked due to H &S bollox..

If its hassle then dont go next year as they cut their own throat. Try charging £25 a head with no kin cars on display !!!

You'll be able to leave early but I can't be arsed rushing down there of 8:30-9am on a Sunday. The reason I packed up racing was the 12 to 16 hour days for about 30 minutes on track, too much hanging around and officialdom

Well I think the event has been spoiled quite badly. Unfortunately common sense isn't that common it seems and H&S has taken over.

We turned up Saturday to camp over and then as previous years would take our cars in. Nope, couldn't negotiate that one. The staff on the gate said it was down to H&S and the jihadi's attacking people in London. Looks like the terrorists have won the organisers over.

On the Sunday I would say half of the cars were there compared to previous years.

I did leave early afternoon, I weren't waiting till 18:30. Despite being a deemed a competent driver by virtue of holding a driving licence as per the terms of the Road Traffic Act , I still had to follow a marshall on the way out.

It's the first time I've done this event despite almost literally living round the corner from Brands; Sue and I really enjoyed it -worth going IMO for the glorious sound of the F5000 cars alone; owning a F5000 car along with a McLaren M8D is on my lottery win fantasy wishlist -just need to make sure I buy some brown race overalls at the same time...

I thought that the restrictions on vehicle movements during the day were understandable in view of the hideous recent events in the UK. We left sometime after three as well, not too onerous to pootle out of Brands with a marshal walking alongside; the security peeps we encountered during the day weren't at all heavy handed.

We left early, 3 of us in convoy - creeping along at less than walking pace and stopping as and when we needed to.
Some jobsworth stopped us 150yds from the gate and made us reverse through the people we had just driven through, then escorted us to the gate via a different route shouting and waving at the handful of people we came across..
Lol, knob.
