What sort of weight will the finnished trailer be ? Im just thinking you dont want it to be to light if you plan to tow it on the motorway . But as you say yourself it cant be to heavy with just 35 BHP to tow it. keep posting pictures as you progress as would like to see the finished item

Ian, get down to Wickes & get some 1" polystyrene sheet & bond it to the inside walls (including roof) then skin the inside with hardboard. It'll make it a lot warmer inside. It won't cost/weigh much but it'll make it a lot more habitable on cold nights.

looking real good, if its gonna be light i would fit a stabiliser to it,
will help to stop it getting blown about a bit.

cut the door, framed it and give the thing a couple of coats of paint!

next knocked up a basic chassis with some 2x2 angle

gave the chassis and suspension units a couple of coats of black hammerite!

Looking dead smart Ian, any chance you could post the costs of the materials as you go along, if you don't mind obviously.

day 7
not much done again today! still waiting for the suspension parts
cut holes for airvents on both sides. could really do with a small opening window if anyone knows of one. ive no breakers yards within 50mile of me to go look through.
gave it another coat of paint (going to keep coating it till i use it all up)
decided on a colour for the two tone, what do you think!

lol just found my tape measure while checking this pic out, on the window sill behind the trailer, ive been looking for it for days...lol

i used sadolin Opaque Timber Protection, its a flexable paint for wood!
applied first coat with a brush and worked it well in to the grain, than recoated it with a roller, need to leave it till next day to recoat, no need to prime and you can get it in gloss or satin. ( i used gloss) light sanding between coats, roller all bug's well in :incheek:

That looks really sweet Ian, much better than a cheap trailer and a tent! When it's finished any chance of posting an all up weight? Keep it up and keep posting.
