Thanks Mark.
Hope to see you at weekend.

A while back Kobi Dave was asking how i did yhe starter, so heres a pic
Motor vehicle Automotive tire Bumper Automotive exterior Gas

It mounts to the adapter plate, putting the starter in a similar position to a pinto I believe.

Did you cut a bit out of the gearbox to miss the starter? Can't quite make it out from that angle.
I put mine in the same place but had to take a chunk out of the box to miss the end of the starter

It was some while ago I did this, I seem to remember having to grind away at the gearbox for clearance, also had to take some bits off the sump.

My local paint shop quoted about £200 for 2 1/2 litres of 2 pack. I got a guy who has a car repair business locally to order it for me from a company who moved out of our area, cost £105. Quite a saving. It just turned up here a few days ago, another piece of the puzzle ready to go.

Try tricking the m/c - servo that you really hope it doesn't come loose and stays permanently fixed together, I bet it will loosen off over night. When ever I need anything to stay fixed tight it always loosens off and what ever I need to stay loose and moving always seizes up. :)

Blimey, totally out of touch, is that how much paint costs these days? Having said that, I recall the most impossibly small tin of celly (for brushing in the odd small chip) cost £15 from my local paint place a couple of years ago.

First car I ever had resprayed was an Escort. Me and a pal prepped it, and I got it painted for £60 o_O
Mind you, if I had to put a date on that paint job, I would guess 1986!!
Times have changed since then, the last Escort I had painted cost £4400. That one admittedly was a full underneath, inside and outside bare metal one. Actually thinking about it, that didn't include blasting either, so probably another few hundred quid on top.
I need a lie down
