I'm torn whether to tub my 100e or not ?

Projects going OK http://www.rodsnsods.co.uk/forum/garage/100e-project-47471

I've mothballed it for the winter, pretty much got everything to build it up, but I just can't get the thought of it backhalfed on 10x15's out my head ? Got a pinto for it and fancy doing either a turbo (not YB ) or supercharged pinto.

Now my only reservation tubbing it is the loss of handling and the fact it'll stick out like a sore thumb and might prompt a BIVA test, plus it'll slow what was already supposed to be a "quick" project.

Whats the general opinion, ? slammed on 13's south london look, or tubbed on 10x15's ?????

i like the look of both, there are a few escorts running with big powered cossies and pinto`s running 13 inch wheels and running the times .my 100`s tubbed drives ok only down side is the lack of room inside (only one passenger) and no room in the boot.i was willing to sacrifice that for the look and the times down the strip

What do you actually want to do with the finished motor, race or cruise ? Then what will you realistically do with it ? ;)
Personally the 100Es I've had were small engines and 'normal' size rims. Chuckable and fun:tup:

your's is one of a couple of 100e's which are messing with my head ! not fussed at the lack of room, it'll have a cage whatever and theres no chance my Mrs will let me take my boy out in it till he's off at least off a booster seat....poor sods only 15 months., so only another 10 years...

it'll have a stout pinto whatever I choose, a V6 or 8 ain't doing it for me because there so little room in the bay. Pinto slots in nice. I've always loved pro street cars since the look came out really, just thought a stout 4 pot, but tubbed would be different. Can't see me racing it as I've got fingers in other pies for that, it was a cruiser, something to get to the odd show or up the Ace

Lowered with a nice paint job and sensible rims a great look for the 100e.
Mind you there was a 100e a few years ago with blown escort arches which I thought looked pretty good

IT must be tubbed, i like the idea of a pinto + tubbing, its the look you are going for not the out and out power, {stance is everything} i'm having the same dalai lama as you are with my MK4 zodiac farnham with essex v6!!. I HAVE SPOKEN !!!

Leave it as it is, my old 100e had 6 or 7 inch rears (x13) and it was a hoot, enough traction for the essex that was in it anyways, and it was still fun around the twisties...

If you like the tubbed idea enough to ask the question, maybe you like the tubbed idea enough to know the answer...
