Hello Rods n Sods Community,

I'm a producer at Shine North Television in Manchester - we specialise in making automotive TV shows.

We are in the early stages of developing a brand new car and bike build series and are looking to cast somebody in a lead role. We're looking for someone who hasn't been on TV before but who's natural passion for designing and building custom cars or bikes will clearly come across on screen.

Candidates will ideally be under the age of 45 and must have a cool "garage hipster" kind of style - tattoos, maybe big facial hair etc. Perhaps they're a great mechanic, great at designing wild one-off customs, maybe they have their own shop building bikes or cars, or perhaps just a passion for the topic. We don't mind if they're a car guy, a bike guy or both. And we don't mind if they're male or female.

If you or anyone you know may be interested, please email me at [email protected] or message me through this forum. Or if you have any great leads where I can find people like I've described above, do please get in touch!

With thanks,

James Redgate

Lets hope it's a show about actually building cars and bikes and not about stupid ficticious deadlines, verbally abusing the work force and then bonding by going on days out. Not forgetting that the build deadline is approaching.
I turned down a tv company for those exact reasons a few years ago.

The tv company wanted to film me going to California looking for trucks and to see me doing some hard bargaining. Told them i buy from known sources, in fact almost 100% with Ray Adams at the time but i could go out and fake it all if they wanted but they would have to pay for the trip costs. They baulked at that. Wanted it all done on the cheap. In the States people like RR and AK and big Paul and young Paul make the money. Over here the tv company wanted to make all the money and i would benefit from the exposure. Aye right. F.off

I thought you could get locked up for exposure ? I know an old fart they could film rolling about on the floor like a tortoise unable to get upright whilst ranting and swearing at nothing and everything at the same time.

one of the best shows at the mo ,bitchin rides, at least is honest with the build times.they state some are one or two years.

what do you pay an hour.i have a years work booked up.found out this week,my wive is capable of putting a cage in a car.no tats on her, though we could get some transfers so she looks the part.guess if you filmed from far away and squinted, she,d pass for under 45
