Finally thought I'd better get a few pics up so here we go.

I have a TVR griff chassis with a brand new Twin turbo'd motor force feeding quad 40's, blower cam, reworked heads, all the right bits.

Then I convinced Mark Bull and Gotzy to let me buy their HRD Minor shell so finally got the shell back at the weekend.....

Off to Wayne Allman's in a week or so for him to "work his magic" as he is going to graft to 2 together, either stretch the body / wings or shorten the chassis a bit, he has a free artistic licence so lets see what appears in a few weeks

is it no possible to use the tvr log book, ok wont be tax exempt etc but then its just removing a plastic body and adding a steel one?

Yes, it IS possible to rebody the TVR chassis and, after an inspection by DVLA, it will be renamed and is 100% legal and will retain the TVR registration number. However there are certain rules relating to how the body is mounted and also no chassis mods allowed which is where the link comes into its own . The details in the link were published after discussion with both DVLA and VOSA.

I'm thinking about stretching the front wings and having the exhaust exit through them betwwen the arch and the door. There'll be plenty of room

definitely looks evil and at its best with those rims, i'm never too sure on the wide bodied moggys as don't look right with the stretch in width.

the only other option would be to add some inches to the width of the shell, as there is a yellow v8 mogggy or was a few years that was just that.

I know the one. The guy lived round here for a bit. It was stretched to fit the jag suspension he had, rather than narrowing the track. I think they look ok with fat atches, but Wayne will have a free hand to do what looks best

Thats gonna be mental mate. My moggyhas had a stretch in the front in the same place. Done right it don't notice until you park next to a standard moggy.

I suspect I'm being simple here, but why does the front suspension seem so much wider than the rear. The back wheels look more or less covered by those wheel arches, whys the front stick out so far? Secondly I would deffo go for stretching the front because otherwise you'll just be bringing the engine even further into the cockpit, which IMHO makes the driving position look crap and places a steering wheel in the middle of the door opening. That's not to mention working on the engine that's surrounded by bulk head. The stretch idea with a F*** off exhaust exit coming out of it would look much better by far.If I dare say one more thing, I think minors look better with standard wings too as opposed to fat. I am sorry for going on about what I like so much, I just thought I'd stick my ten penneth in being as everybody else was! :incheek:
I love the idea of mounting a different body onto the TVR chassis,it will be so cool when it's done. Best of luck with the project:tup:
