Hi All,

I am looking for a set of lowering blocks and U-bolts for a Morris Minor but to no avail, so it looks like I willl have to get a set made up specially, I am not too worried about the blocks it is the bolts I am after. If someone out there is in the business of making such things or know where I can get some from all help will be greatfully appreciated. If you need diamensions I can get them for you tomorrow. I am looking for something around 3" longer than standard.

Cheers,

Stu.

I used these guys as the U bolts supplied with my blocks were too short. (I think I have too many leafs in the spring pack)

no website, so you need to call them.
I faxed over a diagram with required dimensions and they made up the bolts.
Very fast turnaround, very good quality, very good service.

They normally make up batches from 100+, but seemed interested in the project so were willing to do a small batch for me (4 items)

Too wide Gary...

You need Marina ones - one of the Minor specialists do 'em, pretty sure. Google Morris Minor Spares...

I have tried the Minor places and the biggest they do is around 1 1/2in, the wife wants this one to sit lower than that, so we are looking for around standard +3in.

Have you got a place that deals with leaf springs near you? I've had some made for me by asking at Paddington Motor Springs in Wembley and they got the shop that does theirs (mostly for big commercial vehicles) to do some for me to the dimensions I gave (coincidentally for a BMC axle ;) )

Stu,
I would ask an engineering shop to make you 1/2" blocks. Then you can play with the height if 3" is to much (it may bottom out!). I am sure from memory we put 4 1/2" blocks per side in ours. Judge for yourself.

i made blocks to go over the axle and studs to bolt it all together (that was for a 5" lift) worked well, i machined mine from billet ali but you could do the same with steel box and a hole saw. if your realy stuck i can make you some but its not a dificult job so it would be cheaper to do it yourself any advice or a quick sketch let me know and i will sort out a simple drawing to work from.
