Uprights failed under 5g of braking. This is partly a reflection of the nonsense of the no testing ban imposed by Mad Max. Every new car part is effectively a prototype being tested in the public glare.
It was a material failure, they tried out a new carbon material ( Lighter ) it worked fine in all simulated tests, but once in real life, Kah Boom !, just goes to show there is no substitute for true track testing.
