Brian, will they do a 30,000 mile service on my 105E? At 60s prices. That'll be three pounds, five shillings and seven pence. Including parts. Did you buy all the clips then?

Just bought a prop center bearing for a Ford SVO Transit. It took my local dealer 3 attempts, as soon as they hear SVO they do the sharp intake of breath act. I think that when you enter a main dealers violence should not just be allowed but encouraged, servce and price would improve overnight.

took my opel C-coupe GTE for a ride few weeks back. the injection electronics failed in a small place im middle of nowhere (small village with 1100 ppl living there) spotted a small opel workshop. i asked the guy if he could help. he scratched his head, went into storage and came out with 4 brandnew controls, bought them right away of him for the price they where tagged, 20 euro each..... asked him for other old opel stuff. he came up with two diplomat front wings, diff lock for manta and 12 gasket kits for 2l cih opel engines. he also asked me if i had interest in a manta he had stored for years. looked at it, bought it straight away (original TE 2800, only few build with a 2.8l straight 6)

I did my apprenticship at a main dealer 25 years ago (bloody hell!!!) and every year at shut down we had to go into the stores department and collect all the old parts left out by the parts manager, put a hammer through it all and put it in the skip....

All the other apprentices could not work out why I volunteered to come in over shut down...

Or how I could afford a nice shiney new Sierra Coswrth.....

Happy days.
