Hi I have just joined the site and I am looking for a turn key rod or running project due to time commitments, I have spoke with a guy another rodding site and he said nearest shop to me is run by Chris Addison his company is called Unique Custom Cars in Burton, which is down the road from me in Stoke. I cant find any info on the web.

I was wondering if anyone has heard of this company or know Chris, I am just asking as I am new to the scene but always been a lover of rods, but now I have been saving my pennies for a fair few years and Im allowed to spend away, owned various rot rods over the years but a mortgage, 3 kids and a dog, sorted them outa the way quicksmart.

So if anyone has any info on this company please let me know?

Are there any other fellow stokies that are into flames and louvres, whitewalls and rods etc? Surely I am not the only one in stoke sick of seeing massively oversized exhausts on brightly coloured modified chav machines?

I run a car built by Chris . His workmanship is superb, although I'm not sure he's bulding cars anymore. He runs pops diner at his old site.
I spent a long time looking for what you want. Good luck as it's very difficult.

Local trading Standards is always a good place to start if you want to check out a company or get a credit check run against a business and it's owner which shows up any court judgements etc.

NEVER EVER give ANYONE big payments up front,no matter how nice or trustworthy they may seem .Only ever pay on build stage payments with you checking the car is the flesh ( NOT photos ) to see what's being charged for has actually happened. Even like this I know of one company that told two customers that ONE car belonged to them both.:mad:

It appears to me that some people on this thread have registered on here very recently, maybe to let you know their views on UCC. Hope this helps.

I don't know if he is on here, but a chap from the 'other' side lost close to 5 figures through UCC NOT actually building his car, but sending pics of SOMEONE ELSES car...

Not gonna say anymore 'openly' but PM me if you want to get in contact with him... I don't mean Chris.

I'll second that ! I'm normally very cautious, but I handed over big bucks for a recomended engine builder to build me a sbc.
A year later . . . . f**k all :grr: I've now got most of the money back, but still waiting for the last of it.

Judging my the majority of the replys, I'd spend your hard earned cash elsewhere.

I'll third that, had to repossess my car from a well known Kustomizing (hint) painter up North after a string of broken promises and attempts to chronically overcharge over re-negotiated and agreed budgets. Not UCC by the way.

Is this fella still in buisiness then?
I can't see him getting loads of work with a reputation like that especialy in such a speacialised market like this :shake:
I dont know this company or have i ever heard of it but by going by people's reactions i think i would steer clear to.
Not all of you guys could be wrong and i cant see any rodder on here pointing another rodder in wrong direction.
