At that price point it's not about the car any more....
It's about 'What can I resell it for'
That's where a whole load of people got stung when the classic car bubble burst back in the '90s.
On day thay had a Mk2 Jag that they'd bought for 50-60k, the next it was worh half that.
That's the issue when you're buying as a speculator, not a petrolhead.
I used to work with a guy who traded in build options.
He would buy an option on something like a Testarossa, pay the deposit and then look to sell the option on at a vastly inflated price to a queue jumper.
That way he never had to have the money to buy the car itself, just enough for whatever deposit the dealer wanted for the option.
He got caught out with an F40, because he couldn't sell on after a big dip in the stock market and ended up having to remortgage his flat to take delivery of the car.
