Most of the things said about Trump are probably true, and I'm no apologist for him. However, he did get a lot of things done, and was as pro-British as any self interested US president can be. Everybody pinned their hopes on Obama, and the jury's out on how effective he was. Not sure how much of an ally he was to the UK - emphasising the British bit of BP when it came to that oil pollution incident; removing Winston Churchill's bust from The Oval Office. I think it'll be the same with Biden - a decent enough bloke, but too right on and pandering to the East Coast liberal elite. An idealist, like Jimmy Carter. The latter of course, in not backing the "tyrannical" Shah of Iran (a great friend of the West and car buff) ushered in the Revolutionary Guard, and the regime Iran's had for the last forty years.

The presidency of the USA is a many and varied thing, Trump looked to the outside world as a tough no nonsense guy, who would push the button; someone like Putin (dangerous psychopath if you didn't already know) respects that tough streak, as he and other dictators are always looking for a weak spot to exploit (hence the Russians constant probing of British airspace, and territorial waters) what ever happened to Kim Jon Ill (or whatever the North Korean dictators name actually is) after his meeting with Trump , he's shut the fck up with his threats; I would imagine that Trump told him that the US were capable of obliterating "his" country, and wasn't too bothered about accidentally nuke-ing China in the process, whatever he said worked.

AS said by 4pothemi, he was Britain friendly, and post Brexit we could have done with that, both Obama, and Biden have said "we will be at the back of the queue" with regards to trade deals, both of the tried to influence British democracy, Obama, joining forces with David Cameron, to keep us in the EU, and Biden telling us how to conduct our internal affairs, specifically the border between Ireland and NI; I'd say that was fck all to do with either of them.

Trump is done. The Republicans need to find a solid, dynamic and not too old, individual who can give them a good shot in four years, for the sake of America and the relationship with Britain. If you listen to the mainstream media, left wing liberalism is nothing but good verging on holy, but the reality is very different and the picture they paint is a million miles away from reality and what the decent, hardworking man and woman feel and see everyday. The refusal to listen or acknowledge the ordinary person's viewpoint is what fuelled Brexit and Trump in the first place.

When you look at the electorial map of the US the Democrats are almost exclusively California, and New York state, the majority of the heart land is (and always is ) republican; now it's obvious that there are more people in the big cities, otherwise they wouldn't be that big, but to me the coastal areas are the wealthiest also, and that begats "champagne socialism" I have no beef with the democrats, JFK and FDR were (to me) the two greatest US presidents, but Biden is too old, (as Trump will also be if he survives to run again)
