I caught the end half of the program with the 57 in it.
Didnt see what they did to it, just after it had been painted & was putting it back together.

Apart from Mike Fuckwits blathering about it, has anybody seen it or know who bought it ?
Looked ok in the show, wonder whats it like in the flesh ? (er metal)

Looked like a solid car. After they'd stuck a new carb and shiny air cleaner on it there were no pics of the engine bay post makeover. They did the bare minimum judging by the parts bill. When he went to Danchuck for the parts he didn't have to sit with the catalogue and list the part numbers like everyone else!

what amazed me was it was advertised for $13995 and he bought it for $6700, cant believe a dealer dropped the price that much, especially as they were just about to start refurbing it for resale. i think thats a bit to hollywood for me.

My thought's exactly. I don't for a moment believe a dealer would drop the price by over $7k, just how shit is the US economy? The "haggling" bit didn't ring true to me.

As an episode it was the weakest one of the series. They basically changed the carb and air cleaner, replaced all the chrome and sprayed it. Whoop. big deal  and that took an hour of my life....... Shame as it was a lovely car at the end but the episode only warranted 15 minutes tops.

I will say that the guy who bought it got a nice car and I hope he enjoys it to the fullest.

It's only TV. I enjoy Chasing Classic Cars but last night he gave the impression that GM built the 1957 Chevy El Morocco's. Which they didn't. Still well worth watching though.

still a nice car , at least it was a american icon , and not a front wheel drive 80s somthing

Funny how they didn't mention repairing the big rust hole in the passenger side inner rocker panel (Inner sill).
I guess it must have healed up or something!

Well over a year ago the producers of the show was on TriFive.com looking for a car to redo on the show. As I remember they were very open about what they wanted and how much they wanted to pay. I just tried to do a search for their post but came up short. My only gripe was they kept calling it a BelAir and it was a 210.

I think they call it a Belair because they think no one will know what they are talking about if they say 210 or 150. When I say my model is 210 I often get the reply 210 what........cheers DAVE

Dave, I'm sure you are right....People come up to my car and say I like you Nomad, at first I tried to tell them what the car is and now I just say thank-you.
