I need to get to bed.

Been a great, and long day.

Bought some bits for the truck etc.

Nicola and I took a day leave yesterday, and slept over in a cheap hotel last night.

She had packed us a great lunch cooler bag and we made a flask of coffee this morning at the hotel.

Too often the access to these venues is slow, catering overpriced or too little, as are toilets.

What we do is to pre-plan and have what we need in the car, or with us, so the day actually becomes a pleasure.

Nicola took these photos, and I hope you guys like them, or at least some of them, feel free to post comments.

I spent some money on various bits, including t-shirts, retro Thermos flask for the teardrop and some bits for the impending job of restoring the truck.

Couple of new breathers for the valve covers.

A can of yellow spray paint, and more importantly.... Zinc spray for the areas where I end up cutting and welding.

Also a 500g tin of copper slip grease for the reassembly of the truck and mechanical parts as I go along. Suspect I may need some of it.

Nicola made me buy this Sheriff's badge and wear it all day.

One of Nicola's finds at Wheels Day today was this retro Thermos flask for £5.00 which she wants in the Teardrop.

Nice pics, but deff a truck bias! Well done on the Thermos!
LOL ...... Nooooo???? Bias ??

It was all my wife, Nicola's pics. So thanks on her behalf.

I guess VW guys would have a VW bias like Mopar, Ford etc.

One of the problems for her was purely the amount of people and trying to get clear lense space.

How do you change the background to black and white please
Darren, Johnny99 after many years with her Sony camera I managed to convince her to let me buy her a new point and squirt camera around Last year.

So I identified a CANON Powershot SX240HS with 20X Optical Zoom and convinced her to take it.

She is still getting to grips with it.

There are loads of really clever settings including Fish Eye.

The one you are talking about you walk up to the car or anything the same colour, ie Red and hold the camera up close which then samples that colour and lifts it out and makes the rest black n white.

You can do blues, greens etc. Even Chrome which she did try out.

Will post it up later. Garage time now.

Great pics Grizz. Thanks!
Never has a badge been more appropriate to the wearer. He he.
Thanks Stu, it still has me grinning now.

I agree, but never regret it.

Yeah, I was wondering that? It's a great effect.
See above mate.

Great pic's Grizz, and summed up a good day out, thanks
Pleasure mate.

Sharing is always good, as sometimes we do not get to shows and looking at other peoples reports help us enjoy them too.

Summing up is difficult.

The show was in a new venue and as mentioned elsewhere, it's logistics can be improved, but we had a great day out, as did everyone we saw there.

Just uploading some more pics to post in a bit when I come back indoors.

One more Darren ( I will upload another 24 later today when I get back indoors.

On this one Nicola allowed the camera to just pull out the colour of the chrome.

Could work really well on some compositions.

Top stuff

A few of my ones (I've posted these on a few websites so apologies if you find the descriptions a bit patronising):

There were some legendary kustoms on display, some of which British folk will remember from when they appeared in Custom Car magazine in the '70s and '80s.

1977 Ford Model T C-Cab hot rod 'Revenge' by Zack S. Classic Cars, on Flickr

Revenge, a Ford Model T 'C Cab' was built in 1977 by Nick Butler. It's recently finished being rebuilt in Spain.

Winston Sewell's Pro Street 1970 Rover P5 by Zack S. Classic Cars, on Flickr

Winston Sewell turned a Rover P5 into a pro street monster back in the 1970s and he has owned it ever since. He can still do a crazy burnout.

Popcorn is another ex-CC feature car from the '70s.

1955 Ford Popular 103E hot rod 'Street Odyssey' by Zack S. Classic Cars, on Flickr
