Just a quick question. I want to get a new hood made for my gto, but i dont just want a skin i want a proper bonnet if poss. It needs to have a hole in it for an 871 blower obviously. does anyone know of a good (BUT CHEAP) GRP specialist that might be able to make one from my bonnet

I had an excellent quote from WASP earlier this year for a cowl induction bonnet for mine (82 Trans Am). Proper bonnet, not a skin, brought in from the States.
Can't quite remember the price, but it was less than £800.00 delivered to the door.
When I get the cash I'll be getting one.

I have no idea how much a bespoke one made up would cost, but I thought that was an excellent price.

i'd agree to Dale at DRE,

he made lots of bits for JB'S charger and all seemed cool

im guessing he'd make a complete bonnet, sorry - hood  with all internals as opposed to the light weight 'race' stuff ??

still, its only a phone call to find out i spose

Yep; Dale at DRE is yer man. Seems to be the number 1 source for yank fiberglass panels over here.
Might even have a mould already. He's got zillions.
Dropped off my stock firebird hood there 2 or 3 weeks ago; he's making me a cowl-induction one and isn't charging for the mould as its something he'd like to be able to offer. Reckons about £200.
Single skin, no underframe, but I'm gonna 'glass on a couple of steel box-sections so I can bolt-up the stock hinges (less springs) at back with pins upfront.
I guess he'd do full frame one if you asked him. Helpful bloke.

Dont think I'd want to be paying £800 for one. They're about $450 in the states, but obviously the shipping is huge for a bonnet.

Dale is the man for the job. His workmanship is first class and his prices are reasonable. He made the one piece front for my '57 Chevy. He is a nice guy to del with as well.
