Whats the story behind the screamin yellow chopped Mk 1 escort van,
is it an old custom van from the past or a new build,
it was on a 69/G reg, sort of looked familiar, sorry no pics,
anyone know?

when we were younger this would be called a custom car as was pretty much everything that was altered from stock, things were a lot easier back then,

Exactly what I was thinking earlier on. There was some sort of Citreon estate at the nats , chopped into a pick up (& chopped as well) looked great! Just a pity it was matt black :D
Not been to the Nats for a year or few but there was some very interesting & inovative stuff there.

I saw that Paul and thought it looked 'wikked' . I don't walk round the showfields anymore due to health so have to rely on what I see as I drive round or what drives past for my impressions of an event. Certainly some interesting stuff there that I hadn't seen at other events.

That Escort van is owned by a chap called Nick from Ilkeston.
He bought it only a few months ago off ebay for a couple of hundred quid.
It was chopped (badly), had a blown V6 and IRS fitted but it was absolutely hanging. He's been through it completely, fitted a new floor and the roof is replaced with one from a Volvo. The blown V6 now lives in Nick's Mk1 Capri which he built in a similarly short space of time from another wreck (pics below), the van now has a carbed 3ltr.
Given the time he's done it in and the state it was in when he got it (scrap sums it up) I think it's come out fab.
