Hey ho,
I've just had a quick measure up and of the 10 bolt holes on the Zetec block it looks like only 5 of the type 9 boxes ones will line up, is that right?
Also to fit the starter it looks like I'll have to cut a fair bit of the webbing from the sump, again is that right?
I've not started to even think about flywheel, clutch etc, so more questions to follow.

Cheers

You are a star Richy,
I know it's a well trodden path, but everyone you ask seems to do it differently, those links confirm what I was told yesterday by a customer at work, so I'm going with it cheers again.

Cheers Simon,
Good to know you don't need all the bolts :)

Hi Mark,
Whats the score with the escort sump? I've got
tons of room under the motor, if that makes any difference.

starter almost clears an escort sump just needs the sump filing slightly or it may clear completely depending on the make of starter you need a starter motor from either a 2.0 dohc sierra or a cvh sierra theres no point using a cvh sump unless you have crossmember clearance issues

It works but not the most interesting looking engine.

Be advised once you mess about with the induction set up from original you will probably need a retune / remap of the ecu.

hoses are the wrong way round on that setup, the top rad hose goes to the thermostat housing at the back of the head.

Raceline do a very nice cast water rail for a N/S Zetec install re pic below from my old westie (also a nice n/s baffled sump). If I recall correctly (and it's been a while) if you use a 1.8 waterpump it spins the other way and makes the front drive belt install real easy.
