because it covers the battery i have designed it so that undoing the two front bolts and the removing the rear retaining plate , and out it pops.

from our oriental friends across the sea .

The plan is to file off the little loop ,and glue them onto the dash switch buttons, to show what they do ,eg, gas has a G ,water pump has a P ..one button has a T , but i only press that if i want to ruin all my credibility .

i have a choice of garish lewie gold , oldey worldey one ft in the grave bronzy, or ratners silver.

hmmmm choices choices !

Today,i realised the foot box could be slid in like a cartridge ,so that meant i could construct it then insert it ...

seems to have turned a bit dali..

like a box that has been through a strange space time continuumnium.

Now , at this point i was all set to attack the headlight mounts ,then i thought , hey , i am all up in this ally plate works grill ,may as well try to get the centre prop cover done .

Needless to say i made it harder for myself by using the 2mm incrediblydifficulttobendbyhandinium !

i got a bit of the black plastic damp barrier , you know, the same stuff i used for the body sides , and made a template , then cut that out in IDTBBHinium..

Then found a firewood log ,and bent it as much as i could over that ,,,,hmm ,that will be a shallow U shape then,,not very good ,it was time for my secret weapon ...oh yes ..!

THE PICNIC TABLE !!!

by putting it between the slats of the table i could bend it a bit then slide it through an inch ,and bend it again , BINGO ....

Came out ridiculously well , a fair bit more fettling to do but ,progress

Thank You Phil , yes somebody visited me the other day and said "you really have to see it in the flesh ,pictures don't do it justice " which was nice of him , especially since we then went and thrashed the noodles out of his 1310cc turbo mini on the dyno (168bhp/14psi)

Well i have been a bit of a pantywaister ,and not been updating much ...

so latest is ..

made my transmission tunnel out of the 2mm and got it to the point of fitting and bolting it down ..

boosted by the unexpected success of this , i went for the headlights , then realised i needed to make the radiator shroud first ...bum ..

so out with the carboard ..

today its a fetching shade of pizza..

cut some shapes in the garage ...

made it a it longer and pointyer ..

then toyed with the idea of making beaded snakey highlights , so practised on a old bit of ally plate ..

and drew some designs ..

then it was on to dragging out a rough old bit of cabinet

marking it out ..

and getting at it with the thin disc ...yet again ..

leaving me with these..

a afternoon of bashing folding grinding and general tailoring got me to here ,with a test design on it ..

but in the end decided on plain ..

then started on the top shrouds ..

and to save incipient vegetationlike transformation of my viewers , here's the end result ..

spent a lot of time trying to get a nice even join to the bonnet ..

SO!
now at last i could get on with the lights ...this would then tie in wit how i fix the bottoms of the side panels ..

lighting mock up so far ..

this week i hope to make the fittings and get that all bolted on ..

Nice panels, just check the regs on distance in from edge of vehicle for lights, they may need to be a bit wider apart.
Change the number plate for black and silver though!
