I look forward to seeing how the hell all that Jag suspension actually fits a car that narrow !!!

Wonder if he's going to section the car through the middle ( but only at the rear end ) to make it wider. Would mean he gets the jag stuff in and from the back would look like it's had a chopped roof.

 

Will be keeping an eye on this build. Is it a series 1 Morris 8?

Yep, a 1937 vintage, but the rust is newer.

 

its not the suspension im bothered about.

could be fitting the engine thats the prob.

bolted all the panels on properly yesterday and that bay is tiny.

body is staying stock

 

Rover V8 will fit in there no problem with some hugger headers! been done a couple of times before...

 

its all been done befor and certainly aint trying to reinvent the wheel.

mocking up a bit while waiting for a delivery.

was tempted to reuse original chassis but thats not going to happen as with the new stance its a bit to close to the floor.
middle crossmember is about 10mm off and the front valance will need to be trimmed a bit

well the jag fits the front just with a little trimming of the inner panel.

slid it under with a wheel on to work out how wide i could go and not hit the arch on either lock.

may have to reverse the top mount though to get a coil over in

If the original chassis is going and you're building a new one, why not make it a little longer and get the engine in the bay without cutting the bulk head. Just need to make the bonnet and sides longer.

ford 302 is smaller than a rover V8

 

whats the plan for the lower coilover mounts? and out of interest whats the overall width of this one?

rover engine is here for it,plus a manual box.

cut out the bit of the axle where the shock were mounted so i could sleeve it the full lenght.

undecided how ill remount the single coil over yet.

prob just a simple bracket of the back,

axle is 1200 hub face to hub face.took 360mm out of overall width from stock.could prob have gone another 10mm wider each side at the rear.

ill wait till later in the build to put it through its travel, for clearances.


can always add a small spacer as hub studs need to be changed anyway to longer ones
