made a start on stripping the A so i can get the body onto the other chassis. it then means i can get all the pedals, steering and other bits in the right place, also it will allow me to get shot of the stock chassis giving me more room in the garage.

cut some of the firewall out to get the dummy engine and box in to see how everthing is going to fit

i highly recommend the plastic engine blocks for set ups. it makes the job a lot easier

done a bit more mainly moving stuff about to check everthing is going to fit
Image

shortened the bottom pulley to line up with the short water pump

altered the gearbox crossmember. TCI's version ment i would have to remove the running boards and fuel tanks just to change a clutch. (bolts will be tightened before it goes on the road)
Image

made a quick change copied of Stovebolt Tech Tip -- Making a Short Shifter for a T-5 Tranny
Image

also made a mount for the orignal hand brake

been back in the garage again to do a bit more, started to make some engine mounts as the ones that came with the chassis interfered with the exhaust. using the same design as the ones i had on my capri.
first i machined some alloy bushes to replace the poly ones for welding up as they are a bit more heat resistant
Image

mount that fit on the block
Image

this is the bracket for the frame, its made up of two bits of angle to get the taper & tube for the bush
Image

will need triming to fit.

one done one to go
