Rover V8 - What Distributor is best?

Afternoon all. Which distributor or ignition system would be best for a mildy tuned street Rover V8? It is currently fitted with the Lucas 35DE8 which worked well but the aluminium ballast resistor thing has failed and these are stupid expensive to replace and it may be worth swapping the system out for something better.

The Lucas 35DLM8 distributor will drop straight in. has the amplifier module on the side of the dizzy so is simple to wire up. Use a low resistance coil (around .75-1 ohm primary resistance) rather than the coil that the 35DE8 used.

Ive used the Mallory electronic dizzy in my last couple of Rovers, never missed a beat, worth the money I reckon

This is the set up I have,

I would think there is a reason for this over complicated resistor, it probably could be re-wired to take a normal type but I would then be worried about it cooking the module in the dizzy. that resistor alone is almost the same price as a 35DLM8 dizzy, so I think the later dizzy is the way to go.

Cheers folks.
